V and I stayed at her home and made candy for a sale her church is giving tomorrow night. We had a great deal of fun etc. I hurt my finger boo hoo. It was worth it for all the sympathy I received for it - I have seen V dressed up formally - semi-formal - half dressed (?) - cranky - and smiling - and in none of her changes is she other than wonderful. I love you without limit.

Saw V. three times today. This morning - going down to work, and twice this evening. I had to work tonight so I (?) C(?) walked home with V - had a cup of coffee and a few words then back to work. Incidentally Mr. McF(?) was working and I was twenty minutes late. Did he look mad. After work I met V. outside of church and worked home with her - It must be love.

ContextThis is the journal of Virginia Lee Scott, my grandmother, written when she was seventeen and first dating my grandfather, John Arnold Wilson. It's a dairy published by Media Drug Stores and includes space for two entries per day, with facts about the era printed at the bottom, which I have included in italics. Following, 1928, is the journal of John Arnold Wilson, my grandfather, at age nineteen and in love with my grandmother, followed by my grandmother's journal in 1931. Archives
