Got up at 12:00. Went to Sunday School. Mr. Dredges says that the time is drawing near. To work with the man you love and respect - God. Went over to see V. We went out and bought a "College Humor," came home, read it, and danced a while. The Scotts have decided to sell their house and move to a smaller one. Good idea but I hope they don't move too far away. Alice says Mrs. Devoe (?) hates me like a poison. Well - I love V. and that's all I care about at present and always.
V. gave me a lock of her hair. I gave her one of mine.

ContextThis is the journal of Virginia Lee Scott, my grandmother, written when she was seventeen and first dating my grandfather, John Arnold Wilson. It's a dairy published by Media Drug Stores and includes space for two entries per day, with facts about the era printed at the bottom, which I have included in italics. Following, 1928, is the journal of John Arnold Wilson, my grandfather, at age nineteen and in love with my grandmother, followed by my grandmother's journal in 1931. Archives
