"We are no longer small and vulnerable, and when we feel afraid, it does not necessarily indicate that we are, in fact, in real danger . . . our anxiety may simply be a signal that something in this moment is in need of attention. Something in our body, our emotions, our environment may be somehow disrupted or off balance, and needs our care . . . Fear may arise for any number of reasons: Perhaps we are simply tired or feeling fragile that day, or maybe we are preoccupied, or require loving care, or need to attend to some feeling we have been pushing away. There may be no real, external danger at all, just a sensation of anxiety arising within us."
From Wayne Muller's Legacy of the Heart:

Inspired by Wayne Muller's A Life of Being, Having, and Doing Enough.
Our lives, and even the hours in our days, have seasons of rest and seasons of activity; seasons of renewal and seasons of giving; seasons of planting, waiting, then harvesting; seasons of quiet and of celebration. Trust these natural rhythms. Don't fear them or act in opposition to them. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Proverbs 3:5 Today, pause to spend time with Love, without fear or demands or questions. Just enjoy each other's company. Feel yourself cherished. Feel yourself belonging to Love.
Wayne Muller in Legacy of the Heart writes:
"The spirit of love and creation is not so scarce that we will be forever lost if we make the wrong choice.Whatever we choose, wherever we go, there will be some doorway, some opportunity, some person or situation that my bring us what we need." The Bible writes that "there are diversity of gifts, but the same spirit."
Today, look for the gifts and talents in those around you. Recognize those unique gifts as having a divine source and energy and appreciate them as Love making itself known in the world. Wayne Muller in A Life of Being, Having, and Doing Enough writes:
Human beings have an innate capacity to discern what is necessary or true; we have our own authentic, most reliable inner compass, a visceral knowing, an unmistakable sense in our hearts and bodies that indicates what is the next right thing to do, to make, to become. Today, feel the Power and Presence of Love sustaining your energy, ordering your thoughts, helping you to see clearly, meeting your needs moment by moment.
"What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork." Pearl Bailey.
Today, remember your priorities, stay true to your purposes. Angeles Arrien writes in Living in Gratitude:
We can choose, and choose again as the need arises, to redirect our attention away from worries and resentments, shake ourselves loose from apathy and indifference, and focus our awareness--from moment to moment, hour by hour--upon tenderness and affection. |
