Today, meet every self-critical thought with deep compassion, mercy, and unconditional love.

Today, be willing to let go of the model in your mind of what you think your day should be--and what you think you should be or accomplish. Ask yourself what you want and need, rather than what you believe you should do. Ask yourself what others really want and need, which might be different than you have assumed.
Today, notice, and then let go of, all the ways you are judging yourself. Let go of your self criticisms about your emotions. Accept the full range of your feelings. Notice your feelings, treat them tenderly, and let them move through. Let go of your self-criticism about not living up to impossible standards. Be realistic about what you can accomplish today and, at regular intervals, give yourself kind compliments and words of encouragement.
