We often wrongly assume that fulfilling obligations is attended by a sense of drudgery; obligations are boring and tedious, if necessary. However, when we are attending to the obligations that Love has given us - which may be very different from those the world is imposing - we often feel a sense of joy and expansiveness. Pay attention to those activities, thoughts, and people who brings you deep, sustaining joy. Those are probably the area of your true obligation.
Sometimes, in moments of expansiveness and joy, we have an idea about a pursuit or direction. As we begin to follow that dream, most likely, we will feel a sense of resistance and fear. To make the dream come true will also require some work that isn't fun. But this work is different than the drudgery of our false obligations. Notice that when you are pursing your spiritual calling, no matter how difficult, you are also accompanied by a sense of purpose, an underlying peace, a greater sense of freedom, an impelling energy, and more regular joy.
