If you feel restless, a dawning sense that it is time to do something differently in your life but are not sure what, you don't need to push yourself to make immediate decisions. Give yourself time and space for discernment. This may require that you slow down - that you minimize distraction so that you can better hear the answers, which may announce themselves as a billboard or a whisper, a revelation or a slow, dawning awareness. Pause. Listen. Answers or parts of answers may be hiding in stories, poems, music, spiritual reading, conversations, writing, movement, time in nature, meditation. Treat times of restless and the awareness of impending change as holy times. Give them the respect and space they deserve. Avoid over scheduling yourself. Avoid behaviors, mental habits, or activities that make your life and mind feel full and cluttered.
