Today, commit to not "conspiring in your own diminishment." Watch your thoughts about yourself: do they support your innate worth and dignity? Watch how you allow others to treat you. Watch the media or cultural messages you absorb about gender, age, appearance, etc. Reject any messages that undermines your sense of efficacy and value. Watch your actions: do they support your mental, emotional, and physical health and wellness - and that others? Today, in your thoughts and actions, take a firm stand on the side of dignity and worth for all beings.
Parker Palmer--Quaker, educator, and activist--writes in his book The Courage to Teach: "No punishment anyone lays on you could possibly be worse that the punishment you lay on yourself by conspiring in your own diminishment."
