I haven't the right to be blue or discouraged! I cannot give up, I must keep going - working, studying - Today I feel that life is more trouble than it is worth - but for you I must go on. I must make of myself the most that I can. I have been working all day, then shopping - now supper - than to school. Then you. I am so tired - and I dare not say blue. But I do, oh, I do feel so useless. I thought that the day might seem worthwhile if it closed with you but you did not meet me - as you said you would. Did I or didn't I enjoy the evening at Walt's with Alice, Marion, Ruth, John, Bob, Al and Bill? If Al had not been there - perhaps. This snow and ice storm is a bit inconvenient but magnificent to look at. The trees beat any Christmas tree man ever decorated. Went to S.S. John, you don't usually thank me that way for a kiss. "Thank you for that last kiss." I wonder why you did tonight. Have I? Is is I?

I should not take the time even for a word in my diary. Monday - school; Tuesday - Friendly; Friday - at home; Saturday - John; Sunday - Sunday School Class. Either Friday coming or Saturday afternoon I must prepare my S.S. lesson. And every spare moment between meals and breakfast I must use for study and should not use for my diary.
Oh for a moment in which to dream - drift, hope. My life is becoming exactly what I don't want it to be - practical and earthbound. A call from you - encouraged me. This very moment I should be trying to rest. My S.S. class has been her sewing all evening. Walking, shopping, sewing and entertaining - not a moment to myself.
