John - that seems to be the most natural word to write when I touch my diary! Why? I have not seen or heard from you today. You are far away from me, again. Art came around again and took me for a long ride. He is coming tomorrow! When you called yesterday and asked if I would be busy Monday and I said that I was not sure. You told me not to bother because you may be back in Philly and you may not. If you don't want me to bother I won't. I have made a "date" for tomorrow with Art. One on Thursday with George and on Friday with "Les"!

ContextThis is the journal of Virginia Lee Scott, my grandmother, written when she was seventeen and first dating my grandfather, John Arnold Wilson. It's a dairy published by Media Drug Stores and includes space for two entries per day, with facts about the era printed at the bottom, which I have included in italics. Following, 1928, is the journal of John Arnold Wilson, my grandfather, at age nineteen and in love with my grandmother, followed by my grandmother's journal in 1931. Archives
