I detest "soft stuff." I may be old fashioned but I am contented as such! If you ever love a girl, Art, you will never get the thrill of the first kiss or even those to follow! If you are willing to kiss a girl the first time you take her on a date than you, like Paul, attach no affections with love! "What am I going to do with my life?" Certainly not kiss silly kids like you. June 30th last year was the Wednesday after commencement. Had you tried to kiss me then John, I would have disliked you, too! I want your kisses. I have kept mine for you! A year ago today, you chased Stewart away!

ContextThis is the journal of Virginia Lee Scott, my grandmother, written when she was seventeen and first dating my grandfather, John Arnold Wilson. It's a dairy published by Media Drug Stores and includes space for two entries per day, with facts about the era printed at the bottom, which I have included in italics. Following, 1928, is the journal of John Arnold Wilson, my grandfather, at age nineteen and in love with my grandmother, followed by my grandmother's journal in 1931. Archives
