“All is but Faith. Faith in Love, faith in God, faith in the world – All is faith.” Did you intentionally put “love” first?
Dr. Thomas is certainly a fine minister. Beware, lest thou forget the Lord thy God! How I needed that. It was meant for me! Oh God, help me not to forget myself and Thee. J. you seemed to hear the address even though you were writing on the calendar “I love you.” I can see it now. If we were twenty-one! What did you mean when you said nothing but drew the lily? and under my flowers you wrote “never.” Tonight is the first time you have ever mentioned marriage to me. If you were twenty one what would you do first? Ask me to marry you and I would say “yes.”
“All is but Faith. Faith in Love, faith in God, faith in the world – All is faith.” Did you intentionally put “love” first?

ContextThis is the journal of Virginia Lee Scott, my grandmother, written when she was seventeen and first dating my grandfather, John Arnold Wilson. It's a dairy published by Media Drug Stores and includes space for two entries per day, with facts about the era printed at the bottom, which I have included in italics. Following, 1928, is the journal of John Arnold Wilson, my grandfather, at age nineteen and in love with my grandmother, followed by my grandmother's journal in 1931. Archives
