Today, know that you have all the wisdom you need. You don’t need to think your way to wisdom - it’s already there. You don’t need to search your way to wisdom - it’s already there. You don’t need affirmation or assurance of your wisdom. It’s already there. You know who you are. You know what you need to do.

This morning, I listened to a live morning meditation led by Buddhist teacher Nikki Mirghafori. She encouraged us to have a “grandmotherly mind,” or to approach ourselves and others with a feeling of unconditional love and with wisdom.
We all have that wise grandmother inside us. We all rest in the Wise Grandmother who holds us. In class I attended last night, the instructor shared his three rules for anxiety management, which I thought were powerful guidelines, not just for anxiety management, but for living.
Trust however these guidelines speak to you today. This morning, after bustling around a bit, and finally sitting down for some spiritual reflection, I saw more clearly how much a monologue of self-criticism was driving my morning energy - all the little ways I thought I was falling short and thought I needed constant nudges in the right direction. In actuality, though, like most of us, I work best in an atmosphere of encouragement and acceptance - a sense of appreciation for who I am, a clear sense of my worth, and a gentleness around my shortcomings. I need to give that to myself.
It’s okay to be happy. Being happy does not mean you are not serious about suffering - your own or others. Being happy can give us a firm foundation, a steadiness, a clarity which allows us to be of wise service to ourselves and others. Today, accept moments of joy.
Today Love’s unconditional love for you fills all space. It is an ocean in which you swim. It is pillow you can fall back into. It is arms that catch and hold and comfort you. Unconditional Love is around and above and below you and you cannot run or retreat from it or choose otherwise.
We can think of our awareness as a wheel. The center of the wheel is connected to the larger vehicle, Spirit, and is relatively still. The farther we move from the center, the more movement, spinning, and rattling we feel. Today, know you have that still center within. Know you can always return to it, over and over, throughout the day.
This morning, when I woke up, instead of my usual war to try to get myself out of bed to accomplish stuff, I heard this question: “How can I treat my body, heart, and mind with kindness today?” This is the question that will guide my activities today.
