Today, feel yourself hugged by the divine, but Love itself, a tangible presence, comforting you physically, mentally, emotionally. When you start to feel rushed, worried, or agitated, pause and feel the wordless assurance of your hug.
Today, do everything just a little slower than you intended. If there is a question about whether or not to try and fit in one more thing, don't. Feel the presence of Spirit in your activities, providing depth, feeling, meaning, gratitude.
Wayne Muller writes in his book Legacy of the Heart:
"You are not broken . . . You need not remove, destroy, or tear anything out of yourself in order to build something new. Your challenge is not to keep trying to repair what was damaged; your practice instead is to reawaken what is already wise, strong, and whole within you, to cultivate those qualities of heart and spirit that are available to you in this very moment."
Today, acknowledge your wholeness, sanity, and strength. Today, let go of trying so hard to change yourself.
Feel tender Love attending to whatever feels vulnerable, unsettled, confusing, or painful. Feel the presence of Love attending to your body. Feel the presence of Love attending to your relationships. Feel the presence of Love attending to your thoughts. Feel the presence of Love attending to your schedule. Feel the presence of Love attending to your home. Rest and trust in this active care for you.
When Jesus healed the naked, ranting, self-destructive man at the tombs, the man's sanity was restored and he sat at Jesus's feet, "clothed and in his right mind." Today, that same power restores us to our right mind: softens our fears, releases us from obsessions, shows us our true priorities, and impels us to give up beliefs or behaviors that no longer serve us. Today, feel and trust and rejoice in this power acting in your own and other's lives.
Please excuse my earlier typos and general lack of articulateness. I am still having trouble with the site sending out drafts, as opposed to final, versions of my posts. :-(
Love has chosen you for your work this day and will provide the confidence, skills, patience, insight, etc. necessary. Love will renew your energy, enthusiasm, appreciation, and sense of usefulness.
Today, just for today, let go of striving. Take a break to appreciate the gifts in your life and what you have accomplished. Take a break and trust Love maintaining its own creation. Today, when you feel ambition or self-criticism or fear about all you think you should be doing, let go and remember this is a day to celebrate.
Wayne Muller writes in A Life of Having, Being, and Doing Enough:
Our divine nature is "so fundamentally strong that it cannot be tarnished by our suffering, diminished by our fears, or fractured by our tragedies. In short, it is part of our soul, that unlike our bodies or our hearts, does not break."
Today, stay in touch with that place of untarnished wholeness.
From Wayne Muller's Legacy of the Heart:
"When we directly face what frightens us, we often discover our own capacity to survive whatever we have been given. The more we are present with ourselves in fear, without withdrawing, hiding out, or armoring ourselves, the more trust we develop in our own resources, our own creativity, resilience, and wisdom. Slowly we begin to cultivate a much deeper faith that, despite the hurts and disappointments we are given, somehow, within ourselves, all will be well.
