Today, know that you are Love's building. You are Love's structure, well-made, well-proportioned, with a strong foundation, built with integrity and for useful purposes. You are Love's fields and gardens, well-tended and blossoming. You don't have to work to be Love's building or gardens - you just are, and tended by a wise hand. Feel and trust the firmness of your structure, the beauty of your blossoming.
The book of Corinthians in the Bible says "ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building."

In the Bible, Jesus meets a crippled man near a healing pool. He asks the man, "Wilt thou be made whole?" The man explains that he can't be healed because no one will help lift him into the healing pool - people keep going before him. Jesus tells him to take up his bed and walk. And he is healed immediately, without touching the pool.
Today, hear the question, "Wilt thou be made whole?" and answer yes. Wilt thou be made whole, even though your job is frustrating? Yes. Wilt thou be made whole, even though you are frightened about the political climate? Yes. Wilt thou be made whole, even though you don't believe you are worthy? Yes. Wilt thou be made whole, even though your heart feels broken? Yes. Wilt thou be made whole, even though you are afraid? Yes. Feel Love present and active and arguing for your wholeness - your wellness, strength, vitality, maturity, unbroken nature - on your behalf. A friend recently shared this quote from the 17th Century Jesuit Baltisar Garcian: "True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils."
Today, feel deeply grateful for true friendship - and feel its power to magnify love and soften the evils in the world. Today, feel Health as a divine power. Feel Health in your body, in the very cells of your being. Feel Health in your consciousness, in the order and quality of your thoughts. Feel Health in your interactions and relationships. Know this same power of Health at work in institutions and systems and nations.
In the parable of the prodigal son in the Bible, an older brother is peeved when his wild, wasteful, partying younger brother comes home and is embraced and celebrated by their father. The father assures the self-pitying older son, "All that I have is thine."
Today, hear Love saying to you, "All that I have is thine." Feel the truth of it. All that I have is thine. All my love. All my friendship. My wisdom. My wealth. My sense of vision and purpose. My integrity. My strength and courage. It is all there for you because I love you. You are the child of Love, and because of that, you are royal - royal, not in the human sense, but in the most exalted and spiritual sense. You are beloved. You have what you need. You are made of goodness. You are valuable. You stand for justice and generosity. You are kind. You have dignity and grace. You express wisdom. All day today, claim your royal nature.
Today, feel Love's unconditional acceptance of you. Whenever, an agitated thought arises, bathe it first in Love's unconditional acceptance and embrace before ruminating, ranting, or problem solving.
Today, pray and bless yourself: "May I not cause harm to myself." This blessing softens your self-critical thoughts, adjusts your addictive or unhealthy habits, and enforces healthy interactions with other people. Make this prayer sincerely. Make it regularly.
From the Tao Te Ching:
"He who rushes ahead doesn't go far. He who tries to shine dims his own light. He who defines himself can't really know who he is . . . He who clings to his work will create nothing that endures." Today, don't try so hard. Don't try so hard to maintain a persona. Don't try so hard to complete everything on your to do list. Don't try so hard to be productive and good. Instead, rest in the beauty of who you are, without effort. Be authentic. Let go of a need for affirmation. Trust a natural pacing, that does not cause suffering. In the allegory of Adam and Eve, the story of the expulsion from the garden captures our fundamental areas of human suffering. As they leave the gates, Adam and Eve feel homeless, separated from God, hurt by the choices of the other, naked (vulnerable), ashamed, and cursed to joyless labor, physical suffering, and death.
Today, feel Love at work, countering whichever of those beliefs is challenging you today. You are at one with Love. You are at home in Love and can never be dispelled. You are forgiven, dignified, adored, and beloved by Love. You are companioned and protected by Love. Your work is a gift from Love and your gratitude back to Love. |
