Today, be less governed by grim willpower and effort and more by delight in seeing what Love has done.

Recently, I found myself frustrated with some conversations I found boring, that seemed like meaningless chatter, that continually skimmed the surface, which seemed to have little opportunity for genuine connection, delight, challenge, or learning.
This morning, as I reflected, I realized that I am rarely impatient with others' conversational styles if I am taking care of my own needs for depth and meaning, for "soul." The last couple of days, I have had a lot of surface chatter in my own mind and, in my efforts to be productive and responsible, have neglected activities that have the greatest sense of meaning for me. Use boredom with others' chatter as a signal to listen more deeply to yourself. Today, know that the part of you that runs a constant criticism of your shortfalls is exaggerating, out of fear. It believes its job is to keep you safe - to help you belong and succeed - but it has warped perspectives. You are doing much better than you think! Today open yourself to see all the ways in which you are functioning well. Recognize that as the evidence of the presence of Love itself, your Teacher and Friend.
Today, trust that small changes can create great shifts over time. All the little positive changes you are making will have profound results. Sometimes, change is rapid, almost instantaneous. More often, it is the result of accumulated small adjustments and insights. Don't be discouraged by setbacks, but readjust and continue. See this process as a dynamic discovery and a joy.
