Our job is not to work hard to act more loving or to prove to ourselves, or others, that we are loving. Love is our shining nature. We get there, not by trying harder, but by letting go - of fears, competition, insecurities, unhealthy ambitions, self-doubts. Again, love is our default.
Some of us define ourselves as a "loving" person - or criticize ourselves for not being loving enough. Or both. In reality, we are all made of Love. Our substance is Love. Our nature is love. We don't have to maintain our sense of identity by thinking we need to be more loving than someone else. We don't have to work so hard at it - love is our default.
